Dill in the movie

In the movie, Dill is nothing like I expected him to look like. In the book he has snow white hair, but in the movie he had brown hair. So, when I saw Dill for the first time, I expected him to be a cute little boy with really blonde hair. I was also wrong about him being cute. In the book it also talks about how he won a cutest kid contest, so I expected him to be really cute. However, he was kind of goofy looking in the movie. The whole movie is pretty different than the book. The movie skips a lot of stuff and goes in a different order than the book. Do you like the movie and do you think it is an accurate depiction of the book?

I dont think that the movie does a good job of protraying Dill. He is a geek in the movie, but in the book he seems a lot more like Jem in the movie.

I know it! I was expecting brown hair because Mrs. S told us that he had brown hair in the movie, but, he is kinda goofy looking. I can't see how he won a cute kid contest. I mean, come on...

Goofy looking is kind of an understatement, his overbite was insanly large and stuck out past his face. He also looked like he was suffering from some sort of parasite, i mean he was supposed to be small but that was a skeleton with skin. But he does kinda act like Dill should act though real annyoing and brags alot.

Dill seems mcuh older than a seven year old in the movie. I didn't expect him to be so refined and clean cut. (Not even in the book.) However, I can see the cleanliness rub off in him from his Aunt Rachel in the movie.

Dill was very annoying in the movie. He bugged me in the book, but it is even worse in the movie. Jem was a cuter little kid than Dill.

It shouldn't be the appearance that concerns us in the movie. What matters is the personality and role the character has pulled from the book.

Ok, I disagree that Dill would be cute because he won a cute baby contest. HE WAS A BABY!!! Now what baby is not cute! That is why I never really though that he would be cute. I just thought he would look kind of country-ish. He looks like he should go to bording school or something the way he dresses and looks. I totally agree that his buck teeth are horrible.........absolutly horrible!!!

I agree I was actually quite disappointed when I saw Dill in the movie. In my mind I pictured him as a little “charmer” just because of all the comments he made to Scout in the book such as him saying they were going to get married, and that he loved her and things like that. But seeing him in the movie I really don’t see him saying those things. I thought he would be more of what Jem’s character is in the movie. Even though people are saying that appearance shouldn’t matter but for me when I see him in the movie it really does affect how I see the character. And it’s not just appearance either his personality in the movie goes right along with his appearance. I don’t know maybe as we see more of the movie he will seem more of like a cute little kid, especially when he gets older because we all go through that awkward stage.

I agree with everyone, i definatly didnt think Dill would be that geekish. He dresses so weird for his age! He looks very young. And the movie does skip ALOT of scenes and when they do show the scenes they dont have much detail, it is short and gets to the point. It is nothing like what i pictured everything when i read the book.

First of all in the book Dill is being described by Scout, and at the time she was "In love" with him, so ofcourse he is going to sound like he is adorable, and second of all Dill was always telling stories, sowhen he said he won the cutest kid contest it was probably just another story. I have to agree with princess ariel though because hw was really annoying. I think that Dill had the same personality in the book and the movie and that is all that counts
