DON'T HATE COLBERT!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken a beating over these sort weeks we have been doing this project because of what I said in my blogs. All I am saying is that racism is wrong coming from all people not just whites. So I ask you why do you think racism started and why was it so accepted? Where do we get our views on racism today and what changed to make us realize it was so wrong?

Stephen Colbert! Don't even fret buddy! I don't think any different of you after your comments and blogs through these past weeks. You havn't said anything against colored or white people, so I don't know where anyone is getting that from. Now to answer your question, to be honest, I have no clue where racism even started. I think people accepted racism because after one person did, another one followed. It is like a repeating pattern. There could be someone that disagreed with it, but pretended like there was nothing wrong with it, just because they didn't want to be the only one that didn't agree with it, and then looked down upon. It is like people do not have there own minds anymore! They were probably afraid to speak up, especially in the 1930's, considering the amount of violence that took place! They probably would have been beat to death if they did stand up for colored people, and admitted that they did not agree with racism. Thats all I can really make sense out of this. Does anyone else know why racism even started?

MR. Colbert, all your blogs seem insightful and right on cue with some controversial issues. now to the Question: i think rascsim has been around since the beginning of time. no matter where you go or how far back in time you do it people always have thereopinion and personal preference to something or someone. is it right, no. but that is just how people were made. it is what sets us apart from each other. emily osment, i applaud your attempts to try to understand the beginnings of rascism... a valiant effort.

I agree, Stephen, you have a good point about racism, everyone just thought it was definitely justifiable back then, as well as I do. But you were simply misunderstood in your point.

I think we don't like people who are different from us, and it's easier to just judge them than it is to reach out to them. Sometimes it is started because of an offense one person had against another, and their children and grandchildren hate eachother, like in Romeo and Juliet. And once it is started, it keeps getting passed down until no one knows why it started, just that it exists.

I agree with Carl. People wanted to be better than someone. They just wanted to be superior
