Finch, Atticus Finch

I find the self conduct of Atticus to be extremely admirable during the court proceedings. He is very courteous and mannerly even in the presence of the lowlife Ewells. Do you think that Atticus is a good example of the Christian man during the period? I admire the fact that he so gallantly defends Tom Robinson, yet maintains the composure of a Southern Saint. What do you think of the way he acts, with his calm disposition and his decent morals in court?

I think that Atticus is a better man than many of us are. He stands up for what he believes in something so many people today struggle with. I think we should all have a little Atticus Finch in us.

I agree, he is genuine and a good man, but what I think is really amazing is how he handles hisself after he looses the case. He could have easily been very mad and gotten out of control, but instead when Jem and almost everyone else is upset because he and Tom should have won the case, Atticus is very calm and understanding. He just calmly tells Jem that it wasn't right what the jury did.

Atticus is the ideal example of a good Christan man. Atticus was acting way ahead of his time when he defended Tom in court. He was one of those few people who treated black the way they should be treated, during those times at least. He treated them with respect. I thought that it was cool that he actually defended Tom and did not just sit there and take everything that was being thrown at him. He also said that there would be a appeal on the descion. Most lawyers would have just let it go.

He sets a great example I say, and he's a very humbled man. He's very opened mind, patient and has a very big heart, and I admire him because of that.

Atticus Finch. What can I say about Atticus Finch? Well, he is a good christian and has respect for every man. He acts very poper and is not ashamed of what happens to him. When Mr. Ewell spits in his face, he stands there and lets it happen. He does not get upset or angery about it. This shows that he is very brave and he stands what for what he believes in. He is a good father and a Southern Saint.

I would have to agree with everyone who has responded. Atticus Finch is a man with a good set of morals, and i like the way he stands his ground no matter what is thrown his way. Obviously, it is easier to do the right thing when everyone is backing you up, but to stand completely alone...thats the hard part. Aside from the fact that Atticus is a good lawyer,I also think that he is an awesome father. The way he treats Jem and Scout like adults, is very admirable; and he does a good job at living by example.

Atticus is a good man with good morals. When in the court I think he portrays them very well. He calm demeanor in the court room shows the man he truly is and i think gives him more credibility as a lawyer. I also think that Atticus is doing a good job in passing his morals on to his kids.

I think that Atticus is the perfect example of a southern christian. He is a gentleman, kind to all the ladies, a source of respect for all of the men, and has the patience to listen to other people and make his own judgements of them. I think that his morals make him a better lawyer, because his objective in his defence of Tom was not to prove that Bob and Mayella were lying, but to show that Tom was as good of a God-fearing, christian man as there could be, even if he was black.

I think that Atticus is a good example for Scout and Jem. He exhibits good characteristics for them to follow, like standing up for what he believes is right and being able to maintain his composure even when things don't go the way he thinks that they should! I think that the children have a better example in him then Aunt Alexandria gives him credit for!
