Atticus, Wisest Jedi Master?

Just like wise master Yoda, Atticus has proven himself the wisest person in the Finch family. Atticus is skilled with a rifle, just like Yoda with the lightsaber, the force is with him. He is the guiding light in Jem and Scout's life. If they had a different kind of parent would they be the same kind of people, or be totally different in their views of the world and/or in their behavior?

That is an interesting comparison to draw, Han! Atticus is a good man and I do not doubt that his children would be much different if they had been raised by a different father!! Seeing how the other townsfolk are racist they might have been too!!

Wow...A+ on creativity...you're really good comparing star wars to this book. Anyway, I agree that Atticus is a very good parent. He is concerned that they learn good values more than little things, like how to dress.

Atticus's parenting style is risky, very hands-off. This may have worked well in the 1930s South, but today we see the results of hands off parenting gone awry.

He is a great parent, though, who respects his children, gives them room to make mistakes, and gently corrects them when they are wrong.

Don't you agree?

okay han solo, star wars is way to freaking cool to be compared with "To Kill A Mockingbird" stop doing it, and i don't really see how you people are fine with these kinds of things but when anyone else does something humorous they get a buch of crap about it, but to answer the question, i do not think anyone else would have raised Scout and Jem the way Atticus did. So, yes they would have been different.

HAHA that is hillarious! And its true... Atticus set a good example for his kids. So yes, his kids would be different if they were raised by someone else.

Yes, I do agree with Mrs. S says... Atticus is very care free when it comes to the parenting. He does let the children make mistakes but he wants them to learn from their mistakes also. He knows his children will behave.

Though if the children had a different parent they would probably would not be as free as they are. They would get in more trouble, and would behave properly. This book would not be as fun, if they did not have Atticus as a parent because then the children would be boring. They would be boring because they the book would have no adventure in it, and the children would behave and do nothing exciting.

I like this comparison. It actually is a good one unlike some of the other pictures that have been posted. Good Job Han. I think that Atticus is a good father, but his methods are a little different. Therfore, if the children were to be raised by someone different of course they would be different. I don't think that anyone else raises their children like Atticus does. I think Atticus got lucky with his methods, but I am not sure they would work for everyone. I don't think the children would have the same moral values that they do, if they were raised by someone else

I agree with Mrs. S, Handsoff parenting has gone somewhat "awry" today but I would say that my parents have employed somewhat "handsoff" parenting. I mean we have rules and things that we know wo shouldn't do but my parents aren't very strict and trust my brother and I to do what we are supposed to. But, yes Atticus is a wonderful parent and apparently Scout and Jem are going to turn out fine.

Han solo You did it!!! You actually made a creative post while using a picture that made a valid point. Nice work consuelo! Yes, i think that this is very good and very creative. All of your points about Atticus are very true. But, since i have never watched any of the starwars films I don't really know anything about this Yoda fellow but acccording to all the other comments, it is obvious that this is a swell comparison. You Rock Dude!

Great job with the comparison. I'm no Star Wars wiz kid, but if I remember right Yoda was forced into hiding because of his ties to the jedi. Could this also foreshadow what may happen to Atticus if he looses his trail such as Yoda lost to Vader?

This is a pretty good comparison actually! I agree with princess Jasmine! I have never watched star wars either, but everyone else seems to think it was a great idea with the exception of ichigo! I personally like it better than all the other comparison posts, but heck, thats just my opinion. Im just Emily Osment, that posted a question that was similar to one in the past, but didn't mean the exact same thing, and you chewed me out. I mean you chewed me out man. I was like WOW! You couldn't be any more blunt about your feelings! Don't even fret though Han Solo, I am totally fine with it! In fact I enjoyed your, to be quite frank, rude opinion. To get back to the post, I think that the children's lives would be exceptionally different if they had a different father. Atticus has done a great job, and they are turning out well.

I also wanted to say that I agree with imoen. I think since the rest of the town is rascist, if they were raised by another parent in that town, they would be likely to develope that sense of thought, of rascism. It would actually be a very good chance, if you ask me!
