Good or Evil?

I think that Boo Radley is one of the most improtant "mockingbirds" in this story. He was once an innocent child, like a mockingbird is an innocent animal, that was destroyed by his cruel father. I think people have an evil nature, but they can still have some good in them. I think that Boo represents the good that is within people. Even though Boo has suffered through many terrible things, and many people think he is evil, he still has a kind heart I think. This is shown through his interaction with the children. The gifts, the sewn pants , and many other things show the goodness in his heart. What do you think of all this?

I honestly think that a person who has gone through a lot more and have been in many downs-turns are most likely to be more friendly and understanding. I don't think Boo is evil at all. Everyone has their good and bad days, their good and bad side. I'm pretty sure that if someone was willing to reach out to him, he wouldn't be as intimidating and judged.

Yes, Personally, I believe Boo is just scared and misunderstood. I would type more but the bell is about to ring, so I'll come back to this.

This has been established time and time again, Boo's story is trajic and horrible and he is just a kind hearted liitle man that means no harm to anyone. Personally i think Boo is going to be a major influence on the kids, showing them kindness could very well impact there character and personality. and here comes the bell so ill finish this later.........

Boo has gone through a lot of very rough times! Thats why his name is Boo! I agree with everyone when they say he really isn't an evil man at all. I think the nice things that he has done for the kids, like sew the pants, is him trying to say that he really is a nice person and that he does care. His actions and how he really is might be hidden, but I personally think it is in the book. You just have to look very hard. I think the author is slowly giving us hints and clues about Boo,and they are the clues that pertain to how nice and caring he really is.

First of all, I really don't believe that people are evil by nature. I think that man is basically good.I do agree with you though that Boo is a "mockingbird" in this story. I don't think that I would classify Boo's father as evil though I think that he was trying to protect him from something and did it in the wrong way.

I agree with Ginger in the fact that people are not evil by nature. Your spirit towards other people depends on how you are raised and what your parents allow you to become accustomed to..and I think deep down everyone can have a good heart, it's just their decision whether or not they want people to see it. I agree with everyone else when they say Boo was a kind person because of what he did for the kids..it showed that he really did care by going out of his way.

I definitely think that there is still a lot of good in Boo Radley he just doesn't get a chance to show it because he is locked up in his house all day everyday. I think hes just another boy who wants to play and have fun with all the other kids but just doesn't get a chance to. I mean he obviously wants to at least interact with other kids or else he wouldn't have left the gifts or sewn the pants.

I think that Boo Radley is somewhat afraid of the world, and doesn't know how to react to other people. He is a deprived child and it is sad to see that. Boo is actually a good man, and i think that he is stil a child at heart and that is why he put things in the hole of the tree for the children, and tried to help Jem with his pants. Creepy man. I think not.
