Do you remember back a few chapters when Scout and Jem accompanied Calpurnia to her church. The church was called First Purchase because it was the first thing the slaves bought after they were freed and scrounged up enough money. It was described as , "... an ancient paint-peeled frame building , the only church in Maycomb with a steeple and bell... in the Quarters outside the southern town limits, across from the old sawmill"(118). I thought this picture did the description some justice considering the fact this church is an African-American one with a steeple and bell, out in the country.

This is actually a really good picture of what I imagined the church looking like. It is very small, and it makes sense because that is all the poor slaves could afford. So to answer your question, Yes, I think this picture does the church in the book some justice!
