DEBATE!!
The Ewells. Plain and simple. Do you think that the kids do what they do because they can get away with it, or because they have had bad parental influence? Or are they just stupid? Personally, I believe that the Ewells (children) have had bad parental influence to an extent that they don't know what is distinctly right or wrong, but that doesn't change the fact of the matter that they do know what they are doing. They have some self-control, but chooses not to go to school and be rude. I also believe that they can change their ways at any time. I find it really annoying that (ROBERT KEEPS MAKING THAT NOISE!!!!) they put themselves higher than everyone else. What do you think?????

I don't think they hold themselves higher than anyone. I think that they were brought up to think that school is a waste of time. So to answer your question, yes, I do believe that the Ewells had bad parental influence. Parents play a big role in way of thinking as you grow up. The Ewell boys probably know that it is wrong not to go to school, but they probably just don't care. Their parents encourage them not to go, so why go and sit in a hot, boring classroom all day? If they were brought up in a different environment, then they probably would ahve turned out differently. I think the same goes for everyone else.
I think your right! I know a lot of kids who's parents let them get away with whatever they want, and those people are some of the rudest people i have ever met! I definitely think that it's the Ewell's children's parents fault for them behaving like they do! i know that if i hadn't been punished for every little thing i did wrong when i was little, then i wouldn't behave the way I do today.
They are just raised up that way. The parents should have certian parental controls. THEY SHOULD NOT LET THERE KIDS RUN WILD. So i have to agree with the president. They will behave by only what the parents teach us. After all the parents are our main source of learning when we are little. Who else could of influenced them?
I agree with all comments up to a certain point. Yes parents do mold a child's mind, but there is a certain extent to family teachings and values. Wouldn't the Ewells children eventually realize that they could be something different, that they could do something different? Even if they went to school just once a year, their minds would discover that one can go beyond their parents' teachings. It happens everyday...
You are so right pop...Sure, the parents help mold their childrens outlook on life, but the kids are old enough to understand that they could do better. Its called FREE WILL!!! Everyone has it, and everyone shoud use it. NO EXCEPTIONS, that goes to the Ewells as well. I mean, you can't blame your parents for the way you turn out. If you go to prison for killing someone, is it your fault, or your parents for not "raising" you right? I don't think so. It is your own fault for doing it, and nobody elses....and you have to take responsibility for it, whether the outcome is good or bad.
Hmmmmm..............
I think everyone is right! Good Job Guys!!!!!!!! Yup, I feel the same way. I think the parents are in fault more than anyone because they do play a big part in their childrens lives, and they set an example for their children. I think the whole problem is lack of parental discipline and maybe a little bit of it has to do with the parents not being mentally mature enough to raise their kids in a better manor. They are definatley old enough to realize what they are doing is wrong, even if their parents aren't the best. They need to hurry up and take control of their lives, because life moves so fast, and their lives are already going down hill!
I realize that people have their own free will. I just believe that they have not been going to school for so long that they no longer want. I know a lot of people that wouldn't go to school if they didn't have to. I think they don't want to go because they think its a much easier life not to. They were most likely taught this by their parents.
