If you could change one thing....

There were a lot of parts in the movie that matched with the book. At the same time, there were a lot of parts that didn't have anything to do with the book. If you could change one thing about the Movie, what would you change?

I thought the movie was really choppy. If I had not read the book, I would probably feel that the movie was incomplete. I think if I could change one thing it would be to make the movie more complete. I would probably add some things.

I agree with Carl, but the main thing that I would change is that I would have Dill around more. I think there were a lot of situations were Dill could have played a more significant role. I liked his character and I did like how he came and went every summer. Overall I really liked the whole book.

Well when I was reading the book I pictured Scout as a tomboy, but I pictured her as really pretty! I was really disappointed when I saw the movie and she didn't look like what I had pictured when I was reading the book! I also wish that Dill was a little move handsome that the movie portrayed him as!

I agree with Carl. The movie was too choppy, and I feel like a lot of things that happened in the book were left out. I definitly think that if the movie had been followed a little more closely, then the movie would have flowed a lot better.

I also agree with Carl, the movie was choppy. I would make the movie more smooth. The book was not at all like that.

It was choppy. Something I would change would be Dill's looks. I think he looks to wierd... no offense to him, but I don't think he fit the part that well. he also sort of just dropped out in the book. One minute him and Scout were talking about getting married, and the next there wasn't any proof of his existence. So i Think they should have added some more detail of what happens between Scout and Dill.

True, but I would change Atticus's character. If you are going to put Gregory Peck in a movie, don't give him the part of the older boring type, give him the part of the dashing murderer type who sweeps the young ingenue off her feet but then, in a misguided act of loyalty, inadvertently kills her. Now those are the only things missing from the book, love, jealousy, a passion for disemboweling. That's a blockbuster

yeah i think they should have followed up in the movie and made dill and scout get married. that would have been nice. to me dill appeared like one of those malnourished kids that always had seizures. he appeared to be somewhat lacking of a brain and kind of low intelligence.

The part I think should have been in the movie was when they all went to Boo's house to get a peek in the window, and when it was time to get out and they had to go through the fence Jem lost his pants. I would have thought the movie would have been uch funnier if they had had the scene where Dill made up that they were playing strip poker instead of the fact that they were sneaking around Boo's house. I would have loved to have seen his aunt's face when they told her this. This was probably my most favorite scene in the book.

I think that the movie definitely did the book justice. I think that considering the time this film was made they did good. Directors have to decide parts to show and which ones not to because of the budget, movies do cost money. So that's why we missed some scenes and they didn't delve into detail sometimes. If I could change someting in this book it'd be the actors portraying Atticus and Dill. Atticus seems to be much less powerful in the book than he did in the movie, plus I didn't think that Dill was that much of a dorky little guy. In my mind's eye he was a normal looking little runt, but the mind's eye is something through which we all see differently.

The movie was good for the technology available at the time. I think the fact that the film was in black and white actually helped the dramatic aspect, but the actors were horrible.

I wouldnt change Dill Scout or Jem's characters...the actors portrayed them perfectly in the movie. However Mayella was not how I pictured her at all...she was super annoying in the movie. But, I guess that was how she had to be portrayed to make her character accurate.

I would change Dill's character. In the book it talks about how cute of a kid he is. In the movie, he wasn't cute at all. In fact, I found him annoying.
