IN THE END!

overall, the book was sort of interesting, and it had some good parts. it really captured the whole lifestyle and feel of the era. it provoked some thought about rascism and in my opinion really pushed the boundaries of rascism when it was written. do you think this book is a classic that will live on for all time?

I think that this book will be a classic that will live on for all time. I mean,To Kill A Mockingbird is one of the 100 greatest American classics. To Kill A Mockingbird is already a classic anyways so I think it is in the process of living on for all time.

No, actually i dont think it will last much longer, yea it is a great book for now but as the years pass people will stop caring about what happend way back when and consider the years 2000+ the past.

Well, of course this book is a classic!! We are required to read it as part of our education, there are allusions made to it all the time. I think that it is a book you really need to have under your belt.

I really liked this book, because it presented moral issues where the characters had to coose between the popular decision, and the morally correct decision. I think that this book will last.

Yes siree!!! I feel a Classic coming on... well.. actually, it already is a classic. But, whether or not its lifespan is long or short, only time will tell. It is our generation's job to keep it going! When my child is of age, I too may require her to read it. This book gives a fantastic description of all the moral issues in the 1930's and I think that maybe if we can remember this story it will help us not to repeat the bad things that happend throughout history. So, bravo Harper Lee... YOU GO GIRL!

In a way, I agree with ichigo. Truthfully, the book is good at the moment, but later in the future, it may not be as good because teenagers wouldn't be able to relate to it. I mean, are you reading books from way back. Just fifty years or so. Teenagers of the future may look at this book as a history lesson, and how many of you like history lessons? (and if you are in Mr. Furtkamps class, you more than do like it, because he is an awesome teacher> ATTACK, NEVER SLACK>) Anyways, other than the far future, this book was pretty good. If I say so myself, which I am...

It's already a classic and it will be for a very long time. Maybe forever, but I really enjoyed reading this book.

This book is a classic and I do not think it will change. Unless there is some weird law in the future that will banned books. To Kill A Mockingbird is a great tale of adventure and imagination. It tells people the ture life about the 1930's and rascism. Haper Lee did an excellant job!

I am not sure about this book remaining a classic...maybe once it's a classic, it remains a classic. (I do hope that it will continue as a classic.) Anyways, I agree with Ginger: it is a great book to have under the belt. I loved the way the book was written through a child's perspective. It created more of an impact because it was written through Scout's eyes.

Yes. I personally think that this book is a classic that will live on for all time because it takes the reader into history and life now. We can compare the events that happened in the book [past] to the things that happen now and realize that as the generation grows, we look at everything differently; from racism, to religion, to tradition, and to our way of living. I like the book. I would reccommend it.

Yes I think this book is a "Timelss Classic of Growing Up and the Human Dignity That Unites us All"(front cover of the book). This book is definately a classic that most people have read. People allude to this story a lot. I am not sure if this book will live on forever though. We cannot know this. I would hope that this book will love on forever because it is a great classic that teaches a lot of different lessons. There are many moral lessons to be taken from this book. I don't see this story dying anytime soon though.

Are you positive its a girl...? haha anyway...
I really liked the book...it was very detailed, unlike the movie. It was challenging picking out the different mockingbirds in the story and I definately think this book is a classic that will live on for a long time because of the morals it signifies.

I definitely agree. It pushed some boundaries and made you think and was very good. Whether or not it will be considered a "classic" is questionable because i think of classics like Shakespeare and things like that but it was definitely a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone.

OK MAYBE TO HARSH!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I believe the book will live for a very long time. I think this because it does a good job showing the times. It shows the racism that occurred during the time and the economic aspect of the country.

Hahahahah!Princess Jasmine! I like your comment! I will indeed make my child read this wondrous novel of the saddening and harsh racism that went on in the 1930's. I think my child will get a better insight on racism if she/he reads the book! I think this book will stay a classic! I mean this book has been a classic for I don't know how long, why stop now! It shall shine for as many years left here on this earth, even if it is ancient!
