JUSTIFIABLE RACISM ?!?!

Now of course, I don't see race, but knowing of past experiences the African Americans underwent, do you think that their racism towards whites if justifiable back then? Today? Is racism ever one of those things that can't be avoided?

Today their is absolutly no excuse for racism from whites or blacks it is simply wrong. However, in those times I think in alot of cases it is justifiable. During that time period in many cases the only involvment black poeple had with whites involved whites insulting them or making them move to the back of the bus. For example, if nearly everytime time I ran into a person with blonde hair they insulted me I would certainly start to dislike people with blonde hair.

loopfruit.... I think this is a pretty interesting argument you have here! I guess I am not going to be able to argue with you very much because I totally agree with you! Why is it when a black person commits a crime, it has to be all over every news, but when a white person commits a crime, its not even close to being as big? I am not putting down the white race or anything, but their needs to be more recognition for the crimes that whites do commit, otherwise it is not a very fair situation.

Stephen Colbert-
Most of the whites that you mentioned that got a lot of attention from the media for crimes...did something huge. like kill the President of the United States for example, (Booth and Oswald) Or Attempt to kill the pres. (Hinckley Jr.) Or kill a very famous Mr.John Lennon (Chapman). Even in the astronaut and the executive cases...they are still famous people, high in society. So of course they are going to get media attention. I'm talking about the everyday crimes, not the ones committed by famous people. The white crimes that tend to get recognized are just the ones that have to do with high society people (with the exception of the Scott peterson case)

Oh and Colbert, you make a good point with the "It's not what life you are born into, but what you do with your life" thing, everyone has the choice to do what they wish. I was just trying to say that they might have different pressures in their lives than a lot of whites (not all of them) but quite a few.

Racism can most definentally be avoided! Anyone who is still racist today either don't understand what being racist is or they just want to blame someone else for their prolems! There is no excuse for racism in todays society! Everyone was created equil by God and we have no right to think that we are better than anyone else!

Go George Bush! Woot Woot! You said it all! I agree with you totally! Everyone was created equal. For all you racists out there(not to be rude), get it out of your mind because you are not better than anyone. By being racist, it just shows how much better and more mature everyone else is than you are anyway!

Responding to stephen colbert: I have indeed heard of those people, and you do make a good point! Have you read loopfruits comment under your last comment(the one that you showed me up on! haha), she makes a pretty good point too! Therefore, I agree with both of you. There is one thing that we all agree with and that is when you said "Its not what life your born into, but what you do with your life." That's a pretty darn good, well said line! That is so true because you do in fact choose what you do with your life no matter what your color is, so this is pretty much unarguable now. (unless someone else has a better quote than stephen colbert)!

Stephen-you make a good point when you say pain and suffering know no color, that's so true. Everyone goes through hard times, and alot of whites grow up (for lack of better term) in crappy conditions..as well as blacks. Regardless of color, what you are accustomed to is what affects you as a person. But in the end it really comes down to what you make of yourself.

well said Captain Crunch. I totally agree

Having any prejudice against a person without getting to know them is unjustified, whether its because you don't like their hair, their clothes are out of style, or for reasons having to do with the color of their skin

If you have been reading the post, Han Solo, you would have realized that almost the same question was asked prior to your question. If you don't remember this question was if it was ok for blacks to be rascist towards whites, which is pretty much the same thing you posted right after this post. I just thought I would let you know that. I wasn't sure if you were totally aware!

Oh Han Solo, The black racist post that was posted prior to yours was posted on march 8 to be exact!

I think that for most people, racism is something that we are not born with, but are taught by the people who influence us the most. For example, a white person from the deep south is more likely to be racist towards black people because many of the people who influence them have been teaching them civil-war era racism. Personally, my family has some older friends from Texas, who are in their 70s or 80s. These people are completely opposed to any dealings with blacks in any case. I also think that people who are raised around many different races are less likely to be racist in their beliefs.
